vmware 5 en ubuntu 7.10

Hola señores:
Les comento que tengo instalado ubuntu 7.10 y quiero instalar vmware
para poder ejecutar unas aplicaciones para guindous que no estan para
linux. Realizo la instalacion, antes de esta realice la instalacion de
otros paquetes que necesitaba y cuando voy llegando a un punto en la
instalacion  me aparece lo siguiente:

Estuve viendo los sitios que mostraba en el mensaje y decia que solo
soportan hasta el ubuntu 7.04. ¿No hay manera de hacerlo correr sobre
el 7.10?
