configurar red, tarjeta PCMCIA

Hola listeros,

tengo una tarjeta de red PCMCIA 3com Etherlink III rv 589_cs en redhat 6.2 
(zoot), la instalé usando el driver pcmcia_cs (pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net).. 
luego la configuré usando ifconfig y le di las rutas usando route.

Todo bonito, el problema está en que al hacer ping con otra máquina (a la 
cual esta conectada por cable cruzado), ningun paquete es recibido. En 
verdad no tengo la más mínima idea de donde estará el problema, por eso les 
envio la salida de los comandos dmesg, ifconfig y route.

Lo que me llamo la atencion fue la linea:

ds: no socket drivers loaded!  en el comando dmesg.. ya que al ejecutar 
insmod ds me dice que el modulo ya fue cargado.. lo cual verifico al 
ejecutar lsmod, donde aparecen cargados los modulos de la tarjeta. Que esta 
provocando que no se puedan enviar los paquetes correctamente?
