Instalación de Mysql

    No sé si mi consulta es medio OT pero es de Mysql sobre linux.
    He estado intentando instalar mysql con un módulo  rpm y no me ha
resultado bien ya que a pesar de que aparece como corriendo en el
servidor:

ps -fea|grep my

    no se puede ejecutar el comando mysql para tener acceso a la bd. Al
ejecutar una búsqueda del comando no aparece en ningun directorio.
Bucando también en el directorio /usr/bin no aparece,  incluso sólo
aparecen algunos.
