Mini Display Port

Señores:

Tengo una Dell XPS 14Z desde hace un par de semanas la que, obviamente, 
formatié y le instalé Linux, en su sabor Ubuntu 12.04.
El problema es que no viene con puerto VGA, sólo con un mini display 
port que, con un adaptador de un Macbook (es el que hay), no logro sacar 
la imagen por el datashow (ni por pantalla, ni por la tele, ni por nada).

Vengo haciendo a ratos algo de STFW :) pero nada. ¿Alguien que haya 
pasado por esto y me dé una pista de dónde buscar?.
