Problemas WiFi Atheros 5005 G

Estimados, en mi empresa me entregaron un notebook toshiba satellite
L35-SP4068 y tengo problemas con el wifi. Estoy con ubuntu feisty y la
tarjeta es:

El problema que tengo es que hay demasiados errores y mi conexion esta
bastante lenta.

Estuve buscando que significa nwid, y al parecer es que hay mucha
interferencia con alguna sen~al. Lo extran~o es que con mi notebook
anterior 0 problemas, y aqui hay varias varias redes inalambricas.

Algun hint para esto? Alguien ha tenido los mismos problemas? Sere yo?
Tengo la sensacion que el hardware del equipo no es muy bueno ....
