Problemas con SAMBA

Amigos:

Estoy intentando correr SAMBA sobre un SUSE Enterprise
9 y tengo el smb.conf por defecto que "normalmente"
deberìa funcionar pero algo sucede ya que no puedo ver
el servicio desde una estaciòn con Windows.
Luego de hacer una prueba con smbclient -L localhost

Normalmente me deberìa devolver el Server y el
workgroup pero en este caso no me da nada.

el smb.conf es el que viene con SUSE y he probado con
otro smb.conf que tengo y tengo el mismo problema.
