Estimad at s,

El próximo *Martes 25 de Agosto a las 12:00* el Profesor Jorge Muñoz, del Departamento de Ciencias de la Computación de la PUC, nos ofrecerá un coloquio sobre Minería de Procesos titulado:

Process Mining: Mind Your Own Business!

*Resumen:* Over the last decade, Process Mining has emerged as a new data science research field, sitting between machine learning and data mining on the one hand, and process modeling and analysis on the other hand. The goal of process mining is to discover, monitor and improve real end-to-end processes (i.e., not assumed processes) by extracting knowledge directly from event data readily available in today's information systems. Process mining techniques have been applied to processes in a wide range of real-life contexts: health-care, public administration, education, airports, banking, logistic, to mention just a few examples. This talk is an introduction to the field of Process Mining, and some of its most notorious techniques and challenges.

*Mini Bio:* Born in Barcelona, Dr. Jorge Munoz-Gama is an Assistant Professor and full time Researcher at the Department of Computer Science (DCC), at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC). Doctor in Computation with Excellent Cum Laude and International Mention for the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). Degree on Informatics Engineering, and Master on Computation, both at the UPC. Long research visiting at the National Institute of Informatics of Japan (NII) and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Research fields of interest include process mining, business process management, process oriented data science, and Petri nets, among others.

Cordiales Saludos,

Comité de Coloquio
