Sven,
As I see it, one advantage of Valparaiso is its
location. Going far to the north or south makes
attendance extremely difficult and (also) makes
it hard for foreign speakers to attend.

If it helps your programming at all, I have spent
much of the past two years involved in the SCOG
lawsuits. With any luck, they will be over in
two years. I would be happy to (a) give a history
of the various suits and (b) explain why they are
important to the world of software libre, not just
to the USA.

Good luck,
Peter

PS I truly enjoyed my 4-5 days in Valparaiso;
meeting the many Chilean students and faculty,
as well as those from other Latin American
countries. The Encuentro was important to me
as an Encuentro with people, not merely with
software.
