Estimados,

The Real-Time Embedded Software Group (ESG) at the University of
Waterloo, ON, Canada, invites to apply for research internships at the
graduate level, funded by the Canada-Chile Leadership Exchange
Scholarship and Emerging Leaders of the Americas Program (ELAP).
Interested applicants will apply to one of the programs mentioned above
with the support of the University of Waterloo. Eligible candidates must
be enrolled as regular students in a graduate program (M.Sc. or Ph.D) in
a Chilean institution. Scholarships recipients will join the ESG as
visiting researchers, working in one of the multiple on-going or
soon-to-start projects. Current specific areas of interest include:
- Tracing of computer programs (dynamic instrumentation)
- Trace analysis through statistics and machine learning
- Acceleration of trace analysis on GPUs and FPGAs
Applicants must have a good background in embedded systems, formal
methods, statistics, and good programming skills at high and low levels.
Being comfortable working on different aspects of the system design
process from concept to implementation and hands-on experience are a
plus. However, specific knowledge is less critical than exceptional
intellectual ability and motivation, ability to work independently,
willingness to take new challenges and learn what is required,
commitment to the principles of reproducible research, and a general
can-do attitude.
As part of Canada's most innovative University, the ESG offers an
excellent environment for innovative research and access to
state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure.
Application deadline is April 18th. For further information contact:
